Selling a Home
REASONS FOR SELLING YOUR HOME
Home owners in the United States move on the average of every five years. Why they sell has a lot to do with the end results. Selling can be difficult and stressful. If your motivations are not very strong then you will have a tough time weathering some of the storms that can come with selling your home.
There are several reasons why people put their homes on the market.
-
The home has become too small. As the family increases in size, the need to find a larger home becomes important.
-
One of the family providers gets a transfer. Often the corporation has a relocation plan and assists with the move.
-
Family relationships involving marriage or divorce is a strong motivation for people.
-
Empty nesters are finding that their current home is too big to maintain and/or have concerns about the kids wanting to move back in at some point.
-
Upgrading is also a very enticing motive for moving. Their present home is out dated and the urge to build or buy new becomes a motivation to sell.
-
Lifestyle changes lead people to sell and travel to see children and grandchildren, to see the world, and/or to pursue a warmer climate.
-
Health problems can lead to selling. Perhaps eliminating stairs becomes an important health issue.
-
It might be easier to move from deferred maintenance issues to a new home. The sellers may not want to sink more money into their present home.
-
The neighborhood may have had some drastic changes. Perhaps a highway has been built too close or a shopping area built that detracts from the original neighborhood feel.
- Some become tired of the same four walls and want a change.
The reasons for selling are many. The key is to feel strongly about the selling of your home because it will effect the outcome of the price you eventually get.
